Collector Launched Ama Sankalpa Ratha

Khurda–(Subha khabar)Collector, Chanchal Rana launched Child Labour Free Odisha, Ama Sankalpa Sachetanata Ratha (Radio on Wheels) at the  premises of Collectorate, Khordha. With the joint efforts of  State Labour & Employees Insurance Dept, Odisha & Community Radio Association, Odisha, this awareness Ratha “Radio on Wheels” will be moved in various cities of Odisha from June 12 to June 26 to create awareness among the people. While this Ratha  was moved in Cuttack city yesterday, from today, it will be moved in various places in khordha city to create awareness of  Child Labour Free Odisha. Engaging a child below the age of 14 in any work is a punishable offence. Adolescents between the ages of 15 and 18 in hazardous work (occupations & processes)  Employment is prohibited.There is a legal provision to punish the person who makes such work with a fine of up to 50 thousand rupees or imprisonment for 2 years.There is also a provision for both imprisonment & fine.If such a mistake is committed for the second time, there is a legal provision for imprisonment for up to 3 years.The state government has issued a  helpline no- 155368 & a child line number no- 1098 to provide services for this.

Therefore, all the people of khordha district have become aware & have resolved to make khordha district completely free from child labor. Collector, Mr. Rana  has called upon all the people of khordha district to spread this widespread public awareness message & make the Child Labor Free, khordha district & Odisha. The program was attended by ADM(Administration) Pratap Chandra Beura,Divisional, Labour Commissioner(DLC) Khordha, Ajaya Kumar Pradhan,District Labour Officer (DLO)Prabhakar Biswal,  Deputy Collector, Pradhan Tuliama, Shritapa Mishra, Assistant Collector Bhubaneswari Kanhar, District Child Protection Officer(DCPO) Banishree Pattnaik, Radio Kishan Director Pradeepta Dutta, Odisha Community Radio Association, President Dr.Sisir Das,DI &PRO, Khordha, Laxman Kumar Behera, along with officers & employees of the District  & Labour Office were participated.
