KHORDHA, SEPTEMBER 7: A district-level joint public grievance hearing camp was held at the Zilla Parishad conference hall in Khordha on Monday, with Collector Amrit Ruturaj and Superintendent of Police Parmar Smit Parshottamdas jointly presiding over the proceedings.
The camp provided an opportunity for people from different parts of the district to place their grievances before the district administration. A total of 86 grievances were received during the hearing, including 65 individual grievances and 21 grievances relating to rural issues.
Collector Amrit Ruturaj resolved 5 grievances on the spot and directed the concerned departmental officials to take prompt and appropriate action on the remaining grievances. He stressed the need for expeditious and sensitive disposal of the grievances submitted by the public.ADM, Pratap Chandra Beura, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer Zilla Parishad, Khordha Jyoti Shankar Sahu, Sub-Collector Sankalpa Swastik Sahu, Chief District Medical and Public Health Officer Dr. Sanjay Chandra Ray and Assistant Collector (Grievances) Bhubaneswari Kanhar were present and assisted in the grievance-hearing Among others, Civil Supply Officer Gyanendriya Mishra, District Welfare Officer Dr. Gitanshu Mohan Dash, District Social Welfare Officer Kusum Kumari Praharaj, Superintending Engineer of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department Er. Rashmita Das, District Education Officer Sonamika Ray, BDOs, tehsildars, deputy collectors, Lead Bank Manager Ashok Kumar Behera, Deputy Director (Planning and Coordination) Shankar Behera, Excise Superintendent Sumiti Tripathy, District Social Security Officer Dillip Hial, Khordha Tehsildar Bibhash Panigrahi and District Sports Officer Gitangali Panda attended the camp.
Members of the three-tier Panchayati Raj institutions, district-level officials of various departments, line department officials and media representatives also participated in the programme. On the occasion, Collector distributed laptops to 9 students under the State Government’s laptop distribution scheme implemented by the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
While handing over the laptops, the Collector expressed hope that the devices would help the beneficiaries pursue higher education more effectively and wished them success in their academic careers.
The beneficiaries included visually impaired student Swapnarani Bihari of Prananath Autonomous College; Swayam Pragya Nayak of KBC, Barang; Anshuman Sahu and Saubhagya Sahu of BJB Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar; Rachana Jena of Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar; Bishnupriya Behera of KCPAN College, Bankoi; Alok Kumar Lenka of Biju Patnaik College of Science and Education, Bhubaneswar; and Manoj Kumar Barik and Jitendra Nayak of Rajdhani College, Bhubaneswar.
Officials from different departments of the district administration remained present throughout the programme and coordinated with the concerned authorities to ensure necessary follow-up action on the grievances received from the public.
