Khordha-(Subha khabar ):- Capital engineering college (CEC) in Mahatapalla, Khordha hosts vibrant cultural program primarily highlighted during its annual combined sports and cultural meets known as the capital ” CAPCREST”2k26.These events typically feature celebrity guest performance, departmental competition and grand star night for the students. The cultural festival serves as a platform for students to showcase their talents across various disciplines.

The 2026 edition ” CAPCREST” -2026 is a major two day extravaganza featuring electrifying star night dance floors and technical meets.Principal of CEC,Dr.Chinmaya Ranjan Pattnaik in his welcome address, highlighting academic and co-curricular achievements and emphasising personal growth, resilience and a partnership with parents to ensure a successful supportive environment. Dr.Soumya Darshan Mohanty, highlights the achievements of the past year, mention pass percentage,top performing students and prestigious awards of scholarship.Chief speaker, former director of Mahanadi Coalfield Limited (MCL) Dr.Purna Chandra Panigrahi,in his inspiring speech highlights how engineering transforms abstract science into reality driving societal progress, building modern infrastructure and solving global challenges.

The chief guest Padma Shri recipient and eminent neurosurgeon Dr.Ashok Kumar Mohapatra in his speech he emphasizes the need to balance cutting-edge medica technology with compassionate, patient-first care.He advocates for expanding healthcare access to underserved populations and consistently highlights the importance of lifelong learning and surgical precision.He stresses that doctors must prioritize patient survival and comfort over monetary gain.In his discussion he advocates for medical institutes and hospitals- especially in growing healthcare hubs like Bhubaneswar to maintain a balance between adopting modern technology and serving middle class and lower middle income families.Drawing from his globally recognised work such as the landmark separation surgery of the conjoined twins Jaga and Balia, he emphasizes that tackling complex pediatric neurosurgery requires unwavering courage, meticulous planning and strong multidisciplinary teamwork.Dr.Mohapatra speaks out on public health issues including epilepsy and stroke prevention.He educates the students on recognising early warning signs and taking preventive measures to stay healthy.
