Khordha : – A mega tree plantation program was held at Shri Jagannath College, Kaipadar campus to encourage people to plant a tree in honor of their mother.

This campaign connects the idea of nurturing embodied by mothers with the nurturing of nature. It promotes environmental consciousness through a personal and symbolic act.In a meeting organized under the chairmanship of the Principal of the college Pratap Kishore Chhotray, Eminrnt environmentalist Dr.Dillip Srichandan was the chief guest, State National Service Scheme Officer & Deputy Secretary Dr.Ramesh Chandra Behera was the guest of honor and ETI Trainer & Co-ordinator Nirod Chandra Khuntia was the keynote speaker and emphasized on the importance of tree plantation and made a speech to involve the students in the ‘A Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign.

The meeting was attended by NSS program officer, Ms.Anupama Champatiray, Manas Kumar Jayasingh,Dr. Janmejay Choudhury, +2 NSS, Officer, Dr.Sumanta Dehury, Vice-Principal, Ms. Sachala Samantaray, Dr.Sanjukta Pattnaik were conducted the program.At the end all the guests, lectures, SHGs members of nearby village and the villagers together planted 500 cashew nut saplings.
