Khordha Final Electoral Roll Sees 8,546-Voter Rise

Jatani records highest addition of 2,171 voters; female electorate rises by 4,717 across five Assembly constituencies

KHORDHA, SEPTEMBER 21: The final electoral roll of Khordha district has registered an addition of 8,546 voters across its five Assembly constituencies following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. At a press conference held at the Collectorate Conference Hall, ADM-cum-Additional District Election Officer Pratap Chandra Beura said that, as per the final electoral roll, the total number of electors in the five constituencies has increased to 10,60,137, compared to 10,51,591 in the draft roll.
The final roll comprises 5,49,391 male voters, 5,10,670 female voters and 76 voters belonging to other categories. In comparison, the draft roll had 5,45,564 male voters, 5,05,953 female voters and 74 voters from other categories.

The revision has resulted in an increase of 3,827 male voters, 4,717 female voters and two voters from other categories. The rise in the female electorate is thus higher than the increase recorded among male voters.
Among the five Assembly constituencies, Jatani recorded the highest addition, with 2,171 voters being added to the final roll. The electorate in the constituency increased from 2,24,087 in the draft roll to 2,26,258 in the final roll.

Jatani had 1,14,575 male, 1,09,478 female and 34 other-category voters in the draft roll. The final roll has 1,15,532 male, 1,10,690 female and 36 other-category voters. The constituency, therefore, recorded an increase of 957 male voters, 1,212 female voters and two voters from other categories.
In the Khordha Assembly constituency, the total electorate rose from 2,31,122 in the draft roll to 2,32,993, registering an addition of 1,871 voters. Male voters increased from 1,18,949 to 1,19,793, while female voters rose from 1,12,163 to 1,13,190. The number of other-category voters remained unchanged at 10.
The Chilika Assembly constituency recorded an addition of 1,845 voters, with its electorate increasing from 2,20,011 to 2,21,856. The number of male voters rose from 1,15,783 to 1,16,624, while female voters increased from 1,04,222 to 1,05,226. Other-category voters remained at six.
In the Jayadev Assembly constituency, the electorate increased by 1,466, from 1,73,122 in the draft roll to 1,74,588 in the final roll. Male voters increased from 89,929 to 90,555, while female voters rose from 83,180 to 84,020. The number of other-category voters remained unchanged at 13.
The Begunia Assembly constituency recorded the lowest increase among the five constituencies, with 1,193 additional voters. Its electorate rose from 2,03,249 to 2,04,442. Male voters increased from 1,06,328 to 1,06,887, while female voters rose from 96,910 to 97,544. The number of other-category voters remained at 11.
Constituency-wise, the increase in the electorate was 2,171 in Jatani, 1,871 in Khordha, 1,845 in Chilika, 1,466 in Jayadev and 1,193 in Begunia, taking the total addition to 8,546 voters.
The final electoral roll has been published following completion of the revision process. Eligible citizens who have attained the age of 18 years as on the qualifying date, as well as those seeking inclusion, correction, transfer or deletion of names from the electoral roll, may submit applications before the concerned Electoral Registration Officer in accordance with the applicable rules. Applications can also be submitted through online platforms.
There is also a provision for appeal against decisions taken by Electoral Registration Officers on claims and objections. The first appeal may be filed before the District Collector within 15 days, while a second appeal may be filed before the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha, within 30 days, as per the prescribed procedure.
The district election authorities thanked the Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Booth Level Officers, Booth Level Agents and representatives of political parties for their cooperation in completing the revision exercise.
With the publication of the final electoral roll, Khordha district now has 10,60,137 electors across its five Assembly constituencies, comprising 5,49,391 male voters, 5,10,670 female voters and 76 voters from other categories. The final figures provide an updated picture of the district’s electorate following completion of the revision process.
