KHORDHA, SEPTEMBER 22: All government, government-aided, OAVs, KVs, JNVs and privately managed schools in Khordha district, having classes from Sishu Vatika to Class XII, will remain closed from September 22 to 24 in view of the forecast of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall and severe weather conditions.
The District Project Office, Samagra Shiksha, Khordha, issued an order on September 21 following the directions of the Collector-cum-District Magistrate, Khordha, asking all concerned schools to take precautionary measures in view of the anticipated adverse weather conditions.
According to the order, NRTS examinations scheduled by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, will be conducted as scheduled at the designated 13 centres on September 22. The closure of schools will otherwise remain in force during the three-day period.
While students will remain away from schools, teachers and other staff have been directed to remain at their respective schools as usual. The order specifically states that no casual leave (CL) will be allowed during the period from September 22 to 24.
School authorities have also been instructed to ensure that school buildings and other necessary facilities are kept ready to deal with any eventuality arising out of the severe weather. Headmasters have been asked to prepare a roster duty so that the schools remain accessible 24×7 and necessary cooperation can be extended to the district administration whenever required.
The District Education Officer-cum-District Project Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha, Khordha, has directed all Headmasters and Block Education Officers to ensure strict implementation of the order.
Copies of the order have also been forwarded to the Collector and District Magistrate, Khordha, and senior officials of the State education department for information.
