Brown sugar racket busted in Khordha ; five drug peddler arrested

Khordha-(18/10)-In a breakthrough against narcotics smuggling, Khordha Model & Industrial Estate Police has busted brown sugar racket arresting five persons.

On receipt of credible information as per the direction of SP, Khordha, Vivekanand Sharma (IPS) and under the supervision of SDPO, Khordha,Nihar Ranjan Pradhan and IIC Model PS Khordha,Insp.Sanjaya Nayak formed a team headed by SI,D.K.Pingua and other police staffs proceed the alleged location Monalisa English Medium School,TLC road khordha and apprehend two suspected persons.

During the search the police team seized 30 grams of brown sugar,four mobile phones,one Bajaj Pulsar bike,one Aprilia SXR scooter and cash of ₹ 36,000 /- from the possession of the accused persons.In another incident Khordha Industrial Estate Police conducted a raid near Barunei Hill and three accused persons.During the search police seized 25 grams of brown sugar,two bike and three costly iphone.During the interrogation the accused persons were confessed they had gathered there the intention of selling brown sugar for quick financial gain.The total -55 grams brown sugar approximate market value ₹5.5 lakhs.Today
in a press meet at District Police Office
(DPO)Khordha,SP, Vivekanand Sharma, praised the swift action,stating,” This is a
major success in our ongoing campaign to make khordha district a drug free district.

We are intesifying efforts to track the drug suppliers and dismantle such networks”. Further investigation are underway to trace the broader supply chain and prevent future trafficking in the area,he added.

Among others SDPO, Khordha, Nihar Ranjan Pradhan,IIC, Khordha Model PS,Insp.Sanjaya Nayak,IIC,IEPS, Khordha,Indp.Umesh Sahoo and other police officials were present in the press meet.
