KHORDHA, OCTOBER 5: A large number of junior teachers, including women teachers, in Khordha district on Monday urged the district education authorities to expedite the process of their regularisation and implement the latest directive issued by the School and Mass Education Department.

The teachers submitted a memorandum to the District Education Officer (DEO), Khordha, seeking immediate steps for initiating and completing the regularisation process of junior teachers appointed in 2024.
The delegation was led by district president Ashok Kumar Sethi and secretary Dinesh Kumar Maharathi. As the DEO was engaged in another official assignment, Additional District Education Officer Rashmibala Parida received the memorandum on his behalf.
The teachers said they had been pursuing the issue of regularisation for a considerable period and that the recent departmental notification had raised hopes of an early resolution. They urged the district administration to act promptly so that the benefits of the government decision could reach the eligible teachers without further delay.
According to the teachers, the School and Mass Education Department issued a notification on October 1 concerning the regularisation of scheme-based junior teachers. The directive was issued vide Department Letter No. 25778/SME dated October 1, 2026, under File No. SME-EL2-EL2-0159-2025.
The memorandum urged the district authorities to take necessary administrative measures in accordance with the departmental guidelines and complete the process at the earliest.
The teachers maintained that an early decision at the district level would bring an end to the uncertainty surrounding their service status and ensure timely implementation of the government’s decision.
District president of the Primary Teachers’ Association Yudhishthir Sahu thanked the participating teachers and assured them of the association’s continued support for their demand. He said the association would continue to pursue the matter with the authorities until the regularisation process was completed as per the departmental notification.

Among those who participated in the programme were Nrusinghamani Behera, Gadadhar Sahu, Tapan Kumar Behera, Soumyaranjan Rath, Tarini Devadip Mohanty, Laxmidhar Bhol, Krutibas Das, Jayati Kesari Badjena, Chandan Paikaray, Ramakrishna Pradhan, Prabhukalyan Parida, Chittaranjan Ranasingh, Jagamohan Pattnaik and Ananya Harichandan, besides a large number of junior and women teachers from different parts of the district.
