Dhenkanal ,28/07 :- Saroj Kanta Ray, Former Principal, Govt. ITI, Phulbani, Dist-Kandhamal, A/p-Lecturer in Electronics, Govt. Polytechnic, Dhenkanal, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988/109 IPC for possessing disproportionate assets (DA), was convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and to pay fine of Rs.50,000/-.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for dismissal of Saroj Kanta Ray, Former Principal, Govt. ITI, Phulbani, Dist-Kandhamal, A/p-Lecturer in Electronics, Govt. Polytechnic, Dhenkanal from service following his conviction.
Santosh Kumar Samantara, Ex-Inspector, Vigilance, Berhampur Division had investigated the case and V.V. Ram Das, Spl. P.P, Vigilance, Phulbani conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
