Bhubaneswar,25/07:- Sourav Tripathy, Junior Revenue Assistant (JRA), Special Certificate Section, O/o Sub-Collector, Bhubaneswar has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs. 30,000/- from a Complainant for processing the file in a Certificate case pending since long. Despite several requests made by complt, Sri Tripathy was demanding bribe Rs 30,000/- to initiate the file. Finding no other way, the complt reported the matter to Vigilance Authorities. Following this, a Vigilance team nabbed Sri Tripathy today, while taking bribe Rs 30,000/- from the complt. The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Tripathy and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Tripathy, JRA from DA angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No. 17 dtd. 24.07.2025 u/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Tripathy, JRA.
