One Tree in the Name of Mother Campaign Launched in Khordha.

Khordha :- (Subha Khabar)-One Tree in the Name of Mother. It is a nationwide movement aimed at encouraging citizens to plant trees as a tribute to their mother’s -living or departed. With climate change becoming an urgent concern and green cover depletion affecting cities and villages alike, this initiative offers a personal and emotional anchor to promote sustainability. This simple idea resonates deeply across demographics.

Everyone has a mother. And everyone wants to do something meaningful for them. Now that something includes contributing to India’s green future –One tree at a time.As part of the nationwide tree planting program being conducted by the Prime Minister, trees were planted near the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Shialia Patna, near the Barunai Reserve Forest by the khordha forest division.

The chief guest of the Occasions was Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, who in his speech, said that, ” to plant a large number of trees suitable for the construction of the chariot of Lord Jagannath and emphasize the critical role trees play in our ecosystem and the benefits of planting them, highlighting the urgency of reforestation and individual responsibility & underscore that tree planting is not just an activity but an investment in a sustainable future and a healthy planet for generations to come.Other guests included MLA, Begunia Pradeep Kumar Sahu, MLA, Jayadev, Naba Kishore Mallick, President Zilla Parishad, Khordha, Ms.Rupa Shree Rani Gumansingh,SP, Ms. Sagarika Nath, Zilla Parishad Chief Development & Executive Officer,Jyoti Shankar Sahu.More than 500 students from the Center for Environment Studies and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya were participated in this tree planting program.

Prakruti Mitra and VSS members were awarded. In the second year of the mass tree planting for one tree in the name of mother, 7.5 crore saplings will be planted this year on the call of the Odisha Chief Minister.Under this program, it has been decided to plant 1 lakh saplings by Khordha Forest Division between July-10 to August 31st under the “Green Khordha” mission.
