Jajpur:- 01/08 – Hemanta kumar Terai, Senior Revenue Assistant( SRA) of Tahasil Office, Vyasanagar, Jajpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance *while demanding and taking bribe of Rs. 4500/- as 2nd and final instalment of overall demand of Rs 5,000/- from a Complainant to fix up a date for the demarcation of his land*. Accused Sri Terai had received Rs.500/- from the complt few days back and was putting pressure on the complt to pay rest amount Rs.4500/-. Left with no other option, complainant reported the matter to Vigilance authorities. Following this, Vigilance Officers nabbed Sri Terai, SRA today, while taking rest amount of bribe Rs.4500/- from the complt. The entire tainted bribe amount of Rs.4500/- has been recovered from exclusive possession of Sri Terai and seized.
Following trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations linked to Sri Terai from DA angle.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.20 dtd.31.07.2025 U/s- 7 P. C Act, 1988 as amended by P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered.Investigation is in progress against the accused Sri Terai.
