IEPS Seized 320 Grams Brown Sugar & Apprehended Two Persons.

Khordha–29/7– In a major haul of narcotics substances the Industrial Estate Police Station(IEPS) Khordha on Monday seized 320 grams of brown sugar & arrested two drugs peddlers. The smuggler was identified as Biswaranjan Rautray(22)of village -Bhaliabadi, khordha & Balabhadra Behera (32) of village -Gurujanga, Khordha.

Today in a press meet at District Police Office (DPO) Khordha, SP, Ms. Sagarika Nath said that,on received of credible information by the IEPS, the drug peddler Biswaranjan Rautray of Bhaliabadi would come from the house of the another drug peddler (Absconded ) at Bhaliabadi to deal brown sugar with drug peddler Balabhadra Behera of Gurujanga Dwarika Nagar, at that time the IEPS team led by SI, Sunita Behera apprehended two above drug peddler from Duari Temple near Tangiapada, Khordha with exclusive and conscious possession of 320 grams brown sugar along with 2 mobile phone, one pulsar motorcycle, one suzuki scooty. The approximate value of the seized brown sugar is around 32 lakhs.

SP, Ms. Sagarika Nath also said that, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Khordha seizes narcotics worth ₹82 lakhs & arrest 30 persons during 3 months Anti-Narcotics drive as part of Project “Sampark”. Project “Sampark ” is a two-pronged initiative of khordha police including youth engagement and law enforcement against illicit drug trafficking with a special focus on Brown Sugar. ANTF has conducted a dedicated drive against illicit drug trafficking in last three months which has resulted in detection of total NDPS cases in last 3 months, 15 cases in May, June, July, total brown sugar seized -781.72 grams, valued ₹78,17,200,total Ganja Seized -37.8 kg, valued ₹3,78,000,total arrested 30 persons (26 Male & 4 Females ) & also seized 10 mobile phones & 12 two wheeler’s, she added.Additional, SP, Amrit Pal Singh(IPS )SDPO, Khordha, Nihar Ranjan Pradhan,I/c SI, Basudev Jayasingh & other police officers were present in this press meet.
