SUSANTA KUMAR SINGH, JUNIOR CLERK,SUB- REGISTRAR, BALIPATNA,BHUBANESWAR AND HIS ASSOCIATE MAHENDRA SAHU NABBED BY ODISHA VIGILANCE

Bhubaneswar :- Sukanta Kumar Singh, Junior Clerk, Office of the Sub-Registrar, Balipatna, Dist-Khordha and his associate Mahendra Sahu (Private Person) have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance *while demanding and taking 2nd instalment of bribe Rs. 2,500/- of overall demand of bribe of Rs.5,000/-from a Complainant( Functionary of a Trust Board) for handing over a registered trust deed. Singh had earlier received Rs.1,500/- from the complt on 11.7.2025 and was demanding the rest amount to hand over the deed to the complt. Left with no other option, complt reported the matter to vigilance authorities. Following this, Vigilance Officers nabbed the accused duo Sri Singh and Sri Sahoo today, while taking bribe Rs. 2,500/- from the complt. The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from them.

Following the trap, searches are being conducted at two locations of Sri Singh from DA angle.

In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No. 15 dtd. 15.07.2025 u/s 7 PC Act, 1988, as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018, has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused persons namely Sri Singh, Jr.clerk and Sri Sahu ( Private Person).
