Three held in Bodhapokhari Murder Case

Khordha :-The dispute started due to non-payment of the remaining four thousand rupees.The dispute escalated so much that the young man died after being beaten to death by two brothers with a wooden planks. The police recovered the dead body & solved the murder case within 5 days & arrested all the accused.

The incident took place in the Padanpur area under Jatni police station. On the evening of the Jun 28th, two brothers, Bhimraj Mohanty (38) & Suresh Mohanty (36) of Padanpur, Jatni got into an argument with the deceased Hiranya Behera of Bikas Nagar under Jatni police station over the remaining four thousand rupees.After some time of the argument, everyone drank alcohol & repeated the previous incident.Hiranya died on the spot after being beaten to death by two brothers with wooden planks.The dead bodies were dumped near Bodhapokhari in Khordha Tengahat road under Khordha Industrial Estate Police Station area by both the brothers along with their relatives.

On receiving information from the locals, the IEPS recovered the bodies on the 29th June & the investigation was started.Under the direction of the SP, Khordha, Ms.Sagarika Nath, three teams led by SDPO,Khordha,Nihar Ranjan Pradhan,IIC, Khordha Model PS,Insp.,
Sanjaya Kumar Nayak,IIC, Khordha Sadar PS, Insp. Kanhu Charan Swain, Sub-Inspector Basudev Jayasinghe & Bhagyashree Behera investigated the incident.

The police have exposed it five days after the incident & arrested the two prime accused & one co-accused in the incident, two brothers Bhimraj Mohanty, Suresh Mohanty & their relative Bikram Das & seized one TATA ACE, One CD Deluxe Bike,One OLA Scooter, One Passenger Auto, Two number of Wooden Planks, One Mobile Phone of deceased, etc.& registered a case vide IEPS case no-156/2025,u/s-103(1)BNS & all the accused were forwarded to the judicial court of khordha, informed the SP, Khordha, Ms. Sagarika Nath at a press meet.

Press meet held at the district police office.Ms.Nath, said that the investigation report of the murder case will be submitted to the court within a month & all efforts will be made by the police to ensure that the accused get strict punishment.
