Dengue, Malaria Control & Prevention Held.

Khordha–(Subha Khabar)– A meeting on dengue & malaria disease control & prevention was held under the chairmanship of  Collector Chanchala Rana at the conference hall of the collectorate. The meeting was attended by  Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer Dr. Sanjaya Chandra Ray,Zilla Parishad Additional Chief Development & Executive Officer,Ms.Kasturi Bala Jena.Collector, Mr. Rana emphasized on creating widespread public awareness through mosquito breeding, cleaning of drains, mosquito fumigation. Since the months of July, August & September are mosquito-prone, every officer was directed to continue cleaning work in the offices & areas under their jurisdiction to observe Dry Day on every Friday.The panchayats in which dengue & malaria samples have been found to be more the report of the panchayats will be submitted to the  Collector & the Forest &Agriculture Department, all the PHC & CHC will prepare a plan & submit it to the CDM & PHO, Khordha.Zilla Parishad in rural areas & the Municipality & NAC in  urban areas will take special care in schools, market, temples etc. to control dengue & malaria & work for zero casualty (zero deaths).In rural areas, ASHA workers will go door to door to create awareness & make people aware of the symptoms of malaria & dengue diseases & will also spread the message that there should be no rainwater harvesting containers in the surrounding area near the house. Collector has advised all the residents of the district to get their blood tested in case of fever & treat them accordingly.There are 4 dengue sentinel testing stations in the district for dengue disease testing, where the service is available completely free of cost.The system of dengue ward in Khordha District Head Quatre Hospital, Capital Hospital,BBSR. As of 22.06.2025, blood samples of 9860 patients have been tested & 73 dengue patients have been identified.The meeting was attended by ADPHO, Jibanta  Kumar Acharya, ADPHO (Family Planning)  Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sahu,ADMO Dr. Shyama Prasad Mitra, DPM,National Health Mission, Khordha, Subhakanta Pasayat, DSWO,Ms.Kusum Kumari Praharaj, DWO, Dr. Gitansu Mohan Dash, DI & PRO, Laxman Kumar Behera, along with officers from the departments of Education, Municipal Council, Mission Shakti, Notified Area Council, Agriculture, Fisheries, Forest and Environment, Industries, etc &  various, PHC &  Community Health Center officers were participated.Asit Kumar Dash gave a detailed presentation on dengue & malaria symptoms & diagnosis in a power point demonstration.
