Khordha :- (,Subha Khabar )The International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking was observed in association with the Dept.of Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Khordha District Administration & Excise Department.It is a global observance aimed at raising awarness about the danger’s of drug abuse & the impact of illegal drug trade on society.

This day serves as a call to action for govt. organizations & individuals to strengthen efforts to combat drug abuse, prevent substance use disorders & disrupt the networks involved in the illicit trafficking of drugs.On this day, an awareness rally was organized from Haveli Ground to the Collector’s office via B.R. Ambedkar Marg.The rally was flagged off by the Sub-Collector,Khordha, Kishore Kumar Panda, who said that drug abuse is a mental disorder, so by keeping your mind balanced & not disturbing it, you will get rid of drug abuse & join the mainstream of society & achieve many benefits for your family & the nation.

Superintendent of Excise,Ms.Sumati Tripathy spoke in detail about drug abuse & its effects. District Social Security Officer Dilip Kumar Hial gave information about the purpose of celebrating this day.District Social Security & Excise Department, along with leading youth organization Lifeline, voluntary organizations various government officers & employees, intellectuals participated the rally with various slogans. Mr.Panda gave away prizes & certificates to 12 students of higher secondary, secondary & school level essay & debate competition on the subject of drug abuse.He also administered oath to all for their efforts to avoid drug abuse & build a drug-free society. Among others,DI & PRO, Khordha Laxman Kumar Behera, members of PrajaPita Biswa Brhama Kumari Iswariya Viswabidyalay & president, secretary & members of voluntary organizations & media representatives were attended the event.
