Khordha-(Subha Khabar)-The District-Level Agriculture Strategy Committee Kharif -2025 meeting was held at the conference hall of collectorate, Khordha. The meeting was chaired by Collector, Chanchala Rana,included key officials & focussed on various agricultural strategies & initiatives for the district about the Kharif crop this year.
Chief District Agriculture Officer, Khordha Rabi Narayan Senapati said in his speech that Kharif crop will be cultivated on about 103054 hectares of land this year. Out of which paddy will be cultivated on 92660 hectares of land & non-vegetable crops like moong, biri, mandia, vegetables etc. will be cultivated on 10394 hectares of land.The farmland will be irrigated through various irrigation projects & a target has been set to provide high quality seeds & fertilizers through various societies on time.Soil health cards will be provided to the farmers after soil testing & application of fertilizers in the approved quantity will be emphasized.
Discussions were held on promoting agricultural entrepreneurs through the Chief Minister’s Agricultural Enterprise Scheme, organic farming, agricultural mechanization, Odisha Millet Mission, integrated agriculture & collecting data on various crops cultivated in the land through digital crop survey. Agristock is a major scheme of the Government of India where complete registration of farmers is being done. By creating an accurate database of farmers and their land, it will be possible to provide them with various assistance in a timely manner & this information will help in taking policy decisions at the government level. In this meeting, among others, Digambara Biswal, Project Director Water She’d Mission, Khordha, presented details information on various schemes for farmers. Assistant Director of Horticulture,Khordha, Mrs. Smita Mohanty, Assistant Director of Horticulture, BBSR, Debasish Mishra discussed the horticulture to be done in 2025. District Agriculture Officer, Tangi, Bhubaneswar, all block level Agriculture Officers, Water Resources Department Officers, Assistant Director Soil Laboratory, Bhubaneswar were prominent participants.
