KHORDHA, OCTOBER 23:- A free Ayurvedic medical camp organised at the shrine of Maa Bauti Thakurani in Jayamangala village of Khordha district provided healthcare services and free medicines to 151 patients on Friday.
The camp drew a large number of residents from five villages — Gaudaput, Jayamangala, Sarua, Patanibar and Pubusahi — who availed themselves of the free medical facilities.

Krushna Chandra Harichandan, president of Sri Lokanath Dev Charitable Hospital at Goda, inaugurated the camp. Medical Officer Dr Sasmita Guman Singh, Dr Sunil Kumar Behera and Dr Subrat Patra from the Ayurvedic Hospital in Cuttack examined the patients and provided necessary medical advice and treatment. Medicines were distributed free of cost to the beneficiaries.
Several local residents, including Sanjukta Guman Singh, Sadhana Guman Singh, Dolagobinda Chhotray, Pabitra Mohan Chhotray and Lachhman Badjena, extended their support to the initiative and helped ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.
The camp was widely appreciated by villagers, particularly those who face difficulties in accessing healthcare services. Residents stressed the need for regular medical outreach programmes to ensure that people in rural areas receive timely medical attention without having to travel long distances.
They also proposed that similar camps be organised in Jayamangala village once every three months to provide continued healthcare support to residents of the surrounding villages.
The initiative underscored the importance of community participation in delivering affordable healthcare services to rural populations. Such medical camps can help bring treatment closer to underserved communities while improving access to healthcare and raising awareness about the benefits of traditional systems of medicine.
