Khordha Bus Stand–TLC Road Calls for Urgent Reconstruction

KHORDHA, SEPTEMBER 19: The deteriorating condition of the road connecting Khordha New Bus Stand with the TLC area has prompted Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Ms.Sonali Sahu to seek immediate intervention from the district administration for its reconstruction.

In a letter addressed to the Khordha Collector,Ms. Sahu described the road as an important link used by residents, daily commuters and motorists travelling between the New Bus Stand area and several key destinations in the town, including the District Headquarters Hospital.

According to her, the road has remained in a poor condition for nearly two years, causing considerable inconvenience to commuters and residents. The damaged road surface has reportedly made vehicular movement difficult, particularly for two-wheelers and other vehicles during periods of heavy traffic. Ms.Sahu also highlighted the difficulties that could arise for ambulances and other emergency vehicles using the stretch. With the road providing connectivity towards the District Headquarters Hospital, its poor condition could cause additional inconvenience to patients, their attendants and vehicles carrying people requiring medical attention, she said.She urged the district administration to conduct an immediate inspection of the road and initiate necessary repair and reconstruction work without further delay. She also stressed the need for measures to ensure safe and smooth movement of vehicles along the stretch.
The demand has brought renewed attention to the condition of an important road within Khordha town. Residents and regular commuters are now awaiting action from the district administration on the issue, particularly in view of the road’s importance for connectivity and access to essential services.

Sahu expressed hope that an early assessment followed by reconstruction work would provide relief to commuters and local residents who depend on the road for their daily movement.
