Nirakarpur Police busted bike lifting racket,4 held.

Khordha-7/2- Nirakarpur Police successfully busted bike lifting racket operating across khordha and adjoining districts and arrested 4 persons including the principal accused, receiver’s and a scrap dealer.In a press conference at District police office, khordha regarding the bike lifting racket,SP, Vivekanand Sharma said that,on 6.2.2026 evening during routine patrolling near Nirakarpur College,Chhak, police intercepted a suspicious bike rider who attempt to flee.He was chased and apprehended.The bike rider failed to produce valid ownership documents of the bike which was suspected to be stolen. During investigation police know that the suspected bike rider and his associates had stolen multiple bikes from Khordha,Jatni,Puri and adjoining districts and sold them at lower prices for unlawful gain.

Under the supervision of Addl.SP & I/C SDPO, Khordha, Nihar Ranjan Pradhan and SDPO, Balugaon, Sanjaya Pattnaik, a joint team comprising,Insp.Biswajit Rautray,IIC, Nirakarpur PS,Insp.Sanjaya Kumar Nayak,IIC, Khordha Model PS,Insp.Basudev Jayasingh,IIC, Khordha Sadar PS and other police staffs conducted raid at various places and arrested 4 persons and seized 15 stolen bikes, dismantled bike parts and 5 mobile phones.The recovered vehicles include Hero Glamour,Hero Splendor,Pulsar 220F, Honda CB Unicorn,Hero Deluxe,CT 110X and other company.The arrested accused are identified as Sanatan Pradhan,vill- Siko, Subham Samantray,vill-Godipada , Sukanta Rautray,vill- Khadipadar and Dillip Kumar Sahu, vill-Ankulapatna .The gang is active in khordha and neardistricts.They used to steal the bikes and later sell them.Investigation is on and we are hopeful of further recoveries.
Involvement of the accused in similar case’s in other districts will also be investigated,he added.
