Over 200Kg Ganja Seized in Khordha. 2 Held.

Khordha:–19/5– Basing on reliable information the excise officials conducted a raid & arrested two persons for transporting ganja illegally in Bolero Max Pick Up Van & seized 200 kg ganja worth Rs-20 lakhs, near New Bus Stand, TLC, Road Khordha on Sunday Morning. The arrested accused were identified as Foroz Khan, vill-Bansapani, Joda, Kendujhar & Susanta Mendili, vill-Bharatpur, Boudh. In a press meet at District Excise Office, Khordha, Superintendent of Excise, Ms.Sumati Tripathy, detailing the arrest to the media ” a special drive was conducted to check the illegal transportation & selling of ganja in the district

. As part of the drive the excise officials chased three vehicles at Sunakhela,Ps-Nachuni, Khordha, NH-16 fly over bridge & could able to nabbed the accused in khordha.The three vehicles were Renault Duster Car, Regd.No-OD02B-4883, Swift Dzire,Car Regd.No-OD02CQ-8523 & Bolero Max Pick Up Van, OD02CZ-4629.The accused & their accomplice’s procured the ganja from Boudh & brought it to BBSR city by road.A case has been registered & further investigation’s are underway to uncover more details about the smuggling network, said Ms.Tripathy.
