Prohibition of Use of the Name of Press Council of India.

Khordha:- (Subha Khabar)According to the law, the Press Council of India(PCI) is an autonomous body of the Central Government under Act-1978.Which works to protect the rights & powers of the media organizations. Any media organization using the name of the  Press Council of India (PCI) violates Section-3, Section-7(ll) of the Indian Constitution. But in some places, the use of the name of the Press Council of India (PCI) has come to the notice of the Central Government, PCI & the Supreme Court.Which is undermining the prestige of the PCI.Especially, to protect the freedom of the press &to keep the power of the media organizations intact is within the scope of the work of the PCI.The office of PCI  is located only in the capital of India, New Delhi.The Press Council of India does not have any branch offices in any other part of the country. Therefore, no person, media organization can use the name of the Press Council of India anywhere,the Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting & the Supreme Court have issued a notice.
