Collector Reviews Preparedness for Impending Cyclone  “Montha”

Khordha-(26/10)- Collector Amrit Ruturaj today chaired a meeting through video conferencing to the officers of the various departments of the district to reviews preparedness for the Impending cyclone “Montha”. Indian
Meteorological Department, briefed about the current status of the depression, which is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm. The low pressure  in the Bay of Bengal is likely to form a depression on the 25th and a deep depression on the 26th and take the form of a cyclone on October 27th. Along with its impact in khordha district, there is a possibility of heavy rain with lightning. Collector Mr.Ruturaj  has directed the Officer’s of the district,BDOs, Tahasildars,Health, Education,Transport, Electricity, Fire, Drinking Water, Civil Supplies Department, Municipal Council, Notified Area Council and all the essential departments like them to be vigilant and alert to face with cyclone “Montha”.All the officers have been alerted at the office headquarters.

All Tahasildars ,and BDOs of the district have been ordered to set up control rooms in their offices and maintain communication with the district office control room.The report of rainfall  to be sent to the district control room daily.He directed all the line departments to be alert and their employees to be alert to face with any emergency situation.The Chief Dist. Medical and Public Health Officer, Chief Veterinary Officer should keep all essential medicines ready and adequate quantities of snake bite injections should be available in each PHCs and CHCs. The Fire Service, Executive Officer, Municipal Council and Notified Area Council should be ready for the cleanliness of the city. The BDOs should keep the multipurpose cyclone and flood shelters ready with all facilities to protect livelihoods in flood-affected areas.In this video conferencing
