Khordha -6/8-The Tapanga Anchalika Crusher Association has feared that there will be a problem in running the crusher units after the Kalinga stone quarry auction in Tapanga Mouza under khordha Tehsil has gone for almost double in the tender amount. There has been a dispute over the auction of Kalinga stone quarry. The auction which was earlier done by the Puri Temple Administration is now being done by the Mines Dept.

As a result, all the crusher units in khordha district will be closed. Earlier, it was ₹170 per cubic meter, but now it has increased to ₹358. The auctioneers have taken it from ₹1500 to ₹ 5000 per cubic meter. As a result, they will have to buy raw materials at high prices and after packaging them, the chips will be sold at ₹ 4000 to ₹6000 per CM. This will have an impact on the construction industry. While chips are available at low prices in other districts of the state, they will be sold at higher prices in khordha. As a result, many local traders will be sitting with the workers of the five districts. In view of this, the Association has requested the state government to reconsider the tender amount. In this regard, they have submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Odisha through the Collector Khordha to reconsider the matter.
