Sundargarh , 26/07 :- Dr. Patita Paban Barik, Former Medical Officer I/c, CHC, Gurundia, Dist-Sundargarh, A/p-Medical Officer I/c, CHC, Gurandi, Dist-Gajapati, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act, 1988 for demanding and taking bribe of Rs.10,000/- from a complainant (vehicle owner) in order to sign the log book for preparation of hire charges bill towards the vehicle engaged by the Complt., was convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 5 years and fine & was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for dismissal of Dr. Patita Paban Barik, Former Medical Officer I/c, CHC, Gurundia, Dist-Sundargarh, A/p-Medical officer I/c, CHC, Gurandi, Dist-Gajapati from service following his conviction.
Parameswar Kishan, Ex-DSP, Vigilance, Rourkela Division had investigated the case and Sri Shyam Sundar Mishra, Spl. PP & Sri Sandeep Panda, Asst. PP, Vigilance, Sundargarh jointly conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution
