Rath Yatra irregularities and BMC riots have condemned the state across the country: BJD

Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan should resign immediately over Rath Yatra irregularities

Jagannath Pradhan should be arrested immediately in the BMC incident.

Bhubaneswar :-After the failure to arrest the main accused in the BMC Additional Commissioner assault incident and the widespread irregularities in the Rath Yatra in Puri, the Biju Janata Dal attacked the state government, taking the role of the Law Minister into account. The BJD said that these two incidents have brought shame and condemnation to the state across the country.

In a press conference held at Shankha Bhawan party spokesperson and media coordinator Dr. Lenin Mohanty said that the OAS Sangh groups have gone on leave demanding the arrest of BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan, who is said to be the main accused in the inhumane attack of the BMC Additional Commissioner, which has brought stability to the state administration. While this incident has condemned and shamed Odisha across the country, the state government’s silence on the incident has surprised the people of the state. The state government is covering up BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan, which is unacceptable under any circumstances. Dr. Mohanty said that the state government should not resort to further delay in this incident and immediately arrest the main accused Shri Pradhan.

Similarly, the Ghosha Yatra of Lord Jagannath, the distribution of cordon passes, the Nandighosha chariot cannot be pulled, and then at 7:45 PM only for law and order protection.

The massive irregularities like the dragging of the Nandighosha Rath by a few feet, the death of three devotees in a stampede during Sharadhabali, etc., are exposing the failure of the government. Law Minister Prithiraj Harichandan, who is in charge of the Rath Yatra, is making various comments to mislead the people of the state while taking responsibility for this failure. His arrogance is clearly visible from the Law Minister’s statement. He should resign from his post taking moral responsibility for the failure of the Rath Yatra or Chief Minister Mohan Majhi should dismiss him from the ministry, said Dr. Mohanty.
